Adoniram R.A.M. Lodge No 552 (2021)

Adoniram Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 552 started the new season on Friday 22nd October at the Liverpool Masonic Hall, Hope Street.  It was the Lodge’s first meeting in 18 months and so they decided to start with an elevation.

Unfortunately many of the members were missing for many reasons, but never the less it was a good evening and everything went well.   Acting DC, WBro Steve Walls, Prov RAMGR, informed the Worshipful Commander WBro Chris Hamilton that all his offices were in place and away we went.  With the lodge opened, the dispensation for the meeting was read and the minutes approved.

WBro Walls was back on his feet to Proclaim WBro Chris Hamilton Worshipful Commander.  With the officers appointed; it was now time to ballot for Bro Stewart Hyde a new member.  With a successful ballot it time for the Elevation ceremony.  The Guardian Bro Bob Povalll announced the candidate who then placed in the safe hands of Bro Roy Hedges, the Senior Deacon who guided the candidate.  WBro Hamilton sailed through the ceremony as though it did it every day.

There was nothing rusty (or whatever the equivalent is on a wooden ark), about this presentation, WBro Chris Hamilton clearly and confidently worked the ceremony.  He was able assisted by the acting Senior Warden, WBro John Ryan, RAMGR who did the explanation of the steps and acting Chaplin WBro Derek Horrocks, RAMGR.   When Bro Stewart Hyde was safely aboard Adoniram membership, it was back to the summons and election time again.

WBro Giles Berkly, APrGM, RAMGR was elect as Commander elect.  WBro Les Moore maintained the Treasures’ role.  WBro Steve Walls finished up outside the door as Warder.  Two Grand Lodge certificates were presented by the Worshipful Commander to Bros Jeremy Clitherow and Bryan Henshaw.    With the lodge closed it was time for a fine festive board.  We wish Bro Stewart Hyde a long and happy time in Royal Ark Mariners and the lodge safe and pleasant journeys.
